Shimane the Birthplace of Sake

Izumo mythologies in Kojiki, the oldest chronicle in Japan, tell that Susanoo-no-mikoto utilized “Yashiori-no-sake” to hunt the Yamata-no-orochi. Izumo no kuni Fudoki, also narrates that ‘Gods gathered beside a river in Saka, built Mikuriya, and brewed sake to hold a banquet…’
